Shopping Spree and Summer

Hello, fellow fashion-victims!

So I'm actually supposed to be reading "Their Eyes Were Watching God" by Zora Neale Hurston, but to be honest, I fell asleep at page... ten :D. It IS pretty hard to read...

In other (and much more exciting) news, Zara got me again today! You know that gravitational pull that emanated from open stores? Like I can't pass H&M without being pulled inside! True story ;).
Anyway I am a huge fan of the new bold colors!! It's like summer has been asking for this for SO long! Also I am really tired of winter and the cold and everything... I was very much into that whole prude-librarian-look back then with lots of browns and dark greens but now it's time to celebrate life, yay!
So here's some of the things that I tried on today...

Isn't it just beautiful? I am so in love with this skirt! Sadly I'm a little too short... but I'm going to buy it anyway, it's my new obssesion! Can't help it ;). The fabric is so nice, all silky and flowing and thin, very very comfy! And classy! It also comes in green and orange, but I kinda liked the purple best, it looked the warmest^^. But if you're going for a cool pool-side kind of look, the green one paired with a slightly see-through white shirt (white bra!) should be the right choice! The color looks like it might just keep you refreshed on a very hot day ;).

pretty, isn't it?
as for a white shirt, I got this one for classy outfits:

this one is for a more laid-back style

I like to wear it with a black bra and a very colorful millefleur kind of skort-thing from H&M, a really soft flowing fabric, it's really short and I like to pull it up so it's high-waist. Sexy! Wear flats or flip flops if you don't want to let the sexy get out of hand... Or, my new favorite, wear black plateau wedge ankle boots! Kinda Lady Gaga, but AWWWWWESOME!
Sadly, I cannot seem to find the perfect pair of black wedgies, didn't H&M used to have some back in winter? Can't find them anymore, damn.
But here's totally perfect substitute pair which I am very much in love with. Amen.
From Modcloth.com

Real beauties, aren't they? *-*
Here's the link: http://www.modcloth.com/Womens/Shoes/Wedges/-Always-Buckle-Up-Wedge
Modcloth has to be one of the most awesome online shops anyway!! SO CUTE!

I also discovered Asos for me this week, I had been there before and thought it was too expensive, but it's actually pretty good if you pick the right things... Sooooo since I wanted to spike my wardrobe up with some color, I got a pair of blue ankle booties! For like 29€! Squee!!!

I cannot wait to wear them!!! They're supposed to get here Monday, I'm so excited!
I really want to post some pictures, too, but I don't have a cam really, and my iPod is not sufficient at all... sad day.

But I forgot to tell you what I actually got at Zara! I got this smiple, short, white one-shoulder dress which I can't find in the online store... oh no! But, just as I was making my way to the register, I passed the Sale-table. Shoes! And, oh! There was a pair of gold high heels, they were 10€ and they were MY SIZE! (Both of them^^ For some reason I've had two different-sized shoes from Zara twice already^^). Anyway, it was fate! And they go so well with the dress! Imagine them, and the dress, and maybe some big long gold necklaces, or some big gold hoops, or just a very skinny little bracelet... perfect summer party combo!! *-*

*sigh* lovely, just lovely...! Now I only need a bunch of parties to go to! :D

Well, that was it for today, what an extensive post! Hope you had fun reading it, be creative!

Love, Emma

Banana Chocolate Chunkies

Hellooo... I'm back after about 100 years of not blogging. A lot has happened since then, I have moved to a big city, among other things ;)).
Which means that as soon as I get an awesome fancy camera, I will be out taking photos of street styles, the people are soooooooooooooooo well-dressed here! I can't believe it..
Anyway, last night I watched the movie "Julie&Julia" about this woman who writes a blog about cooking and I thought I could do that too, once in a while, since this is a lifestyle blog.
So today I made Cynthia Barcomi's Banana Chocolate Chunkies!

flour and salt, not very exciting :D

oatflakes and walnuts only waiting for...

...chocolate!

my left hand after dealing with the chocolate, oh great -.-"

aaaand mixing it together!

Then I was the main dough part consisting of butter, sugar, syrup, vanilla sugar, an egg and bananaaas :)) well actually you're supposed to use vanilla extract but my store didn't have any, so I just used some more syrup and some vanilla flavored sugar, I don't think it made much of a difference.
In addition to that I should not just have put all of the ingrediences in the bowl like that but beat the butter a bit before adding the sugar and the egg, bla bla. All I can say is that it worked out anyway, thank God... I really need to read the recipe more closely next time :D

Banana time!!!

Stripping 'em...

haha okay, my fork sucks, and I don't think it was bent like that before I started mashing up the bananas... It said I should use one big banana but the ones I got weren't all that huge so I just took 1 1/2 :)

so that's where the last half of the banana went... ;) there are better pictures of me though :D

Then I added the flour

The oatflakes/walnut/chocolate-mixture was next!

mix it mix it mix it aaaaand put those babies on a baking tray woot!

See ya in 15 minutes, my lovely lovely cookies! :)

tick tock tick tock...

Spying on the cookies... o__O

Fresh from the oven, hot and chewy... *-*

Let it cool off, let it cool o-hoff... anyone know that Peter, Bjorn and John song?

And then... I tried one...

OMG SO GOOD!!!!! *__________________________________________________*

Look at the chocolate! Melted! Just look at it!!!

Well, I hope I can make some more of these, preferably with a camera that has flash :D ahem...
Aaaand I hope you liked it, you should try making them! It's really easy, the recipe is from Cynthia Barcomi's 2nd book. She's a baking goddess!!!
